Throttle up and down, yaw left and right. It sits in a fixed place, because throttle is a position, not a nudge.

Pitch and roll. It appears wherever your thumb lands, so you are never reaching for a circle drawn in the wrong spot.

// Why a simulator

Break props in a browser tab, not in a field

Every FPV pilot will tell you the same thing: the first hundred hours belong in a simulator. It is cheaper, it is faster, and nothing snaps.

// What acro actually means

An FPV simulator reproduces how a quadcopter flies from the pilot's point of view. What you see is what a video receiver would feed your goggles: a HUD with battery, speed, altitude and an artificial horizon.

fpv0 flies in acro, the rate mode every racer and freestyle pilot uses. No self-leveling, no training wheels. The quad does exactly what your sticks tell it to, including nothing at all when you let go.

Liftoff, VelociDrone, Uncrashed and DRL are excellent, and they are also multi-gigabyte installs, a store account and a graphics card. fpv0 opens in two seconds in a tab you already have.

It is not a replacement for a full sim when you are training for a race. It is the thing you use before you own a quad, between packs, in a hotel room, or when a friend says "let me try" and you do not want to install anything.

People who have not bought a quad yet. FPV sticks feel wrong for the first few hours and every mistake on real hardware costs props. Do the crashing here.

Questions people actually ask

If yours is not here, the answer is almost certainly "yes, it is free and no, you don't need an account".

Is it really free?

Completely. No subscription, no donations, no in-game purchases, no ads. Nothing is gated behind an account because there are no accounts. Open it and fly.

Do I need to download or install anything?

No. It is WebGL and runs in the browser. Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari all work.

If you want, you can install it as an app on a phone. That gives you an icon on the home screen and makes the maps work offline. It is still not an app store download: the site installs itself, using the browser.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, and this is the part most browser simulators skip. You get two on-screen sticks in a Mode 2 layout, with the throttle holding its position the way a real radio does, or springing back to a hover if you prefer.

A PC with a transmitter is still better for serious practice, but a phone is a perfectly reasonable way to get some stick time in.

Can I use my real FPV transmitter?

Yes. Most modern radios support USB Joystick or Sim mode: RadioMaster TX16S, Jumper T-Pro, TBS Tango 2, FlySky, FrSky. Plug it in over USB, switch it into that mode, and the browser sees it as a gamepad.

Then run the calibration in the menu. It walks you through four sticks and maps the axes itself, so you don't have to guess which one your radio calls axis 3.

Acro or angle?

Acro is the default and the point. That is rate mode, the one every racer and freestyle pilot flies: the quad does not return to level on its own, you command angular rate on all three axes.

Angle mode is there too, one key away, for the first hour.

Are my settings and lap times saved?

Stick calibration and your throttle preference are stored locally in the browser and never leave your device. Clearing site data resets them.

Your best lap lives until you reload the page. There are no cloud profiles or leaderboards yet.

Will there ever be weapons, payload release or target modes?

No. fpv0 is a sports simulator: gate racing, freestyle, timed laps. Weapon models, payload release, a targeting reticle and "hit the target" game modes will not be in it. That is a decision for as long as the project exists, not a list for today.

What we do not build, and why, is in the terms of use.

What data do you collect?

No account, no name, no email. What is collected is anonymous: which map was opened, phone or desktop, which control method, how long the session ran. That is how we decide which map to build next.

None of it identifies a person, there are no ads and no third-party trackers. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is sent at all. Details are in the privacy policy.

How is this different from Liftoff or VelociDrone?

Those are full paid simulators with deep physics, drone customization and online leagues. They are also large downloads and a purchase.

fpv0 is the free, light one that opens in a tab: for first steps, for a warm-up, and for handing your phone to someone who wants to see what FPV feels like. Different tools. Owning one does not stop you wanting the other.
